Help Me...Please!

HELP!

These lamps didn't sell I think it was the crazy colour...
but they have brown marble bases & faux amber thick rings top & bottom.
I bought linen coloured shades...
They have big dragon flies on them....

So should I paint them black or linen...or do you have a better idea!

Please HELP me!

This adorable twin bed didn't sell either!...But it will @ my booth or at the next sale

PLEASE...HELP me with the lamp colour!

These pretty pictures by Sharlee Prang!

  1. I love the lamps! I would paint them white or linen, and i would paint the marble the same color and paint some veins going through it to look like marble. The lamp shades are perfect.

  2. I like the lamps too. But maybe they'd sell faster if you painted them a pretty robins egg blue...

  3. Almost anything Robins egg blue is so much more beautiful....ask the Raccoon, he went and ate my stunning little robins eggs on my deck.

Good thing we had a photo shoot with them first, LOL.

I love the idea of a linen, or robins egg color. Hope that they sell like hotcakes at your next market.

  4. Sorry they didn't sell! Love the shades! I think I would paint then either the white, linen or black. I like the idea of the blue but that's pretty specific if you want to sell them fast, I would do the base the same.
    Good luck!

  6. I think I would leave the brown marble and paint them a sage green.

  7. I left a comment and then it just went away when I clicked on Post..humm?! That was earilier so I will try again. I like the way they look now..But if I were to change it I would change the shades to bigger and darker. The bases are heavy and I think they can handle something larger and with a bolder statement even a bit rich...like a mans study with the old leather look. Just an idea. Will you let us know what you decide? xo

  9. Oh Colleen, I am casting my vote with those in favour of "Linen"...But you'll make them beautiful what ever you chose.

  13. Thanks for popping in to visit my blog recently...lovely to meet you. l was thinkin you could paint the lamps in linen but maybe dry brush them so the carvings are not totally painted this will leave a bit of dark to match the marble base, then if you wanted to girlie them a up bit you could add some velvet ribbon with a brooch....good luck with whatever you decide...your stall looks full of lovely things, the cushions are soo pretty.Hope you let us know what you go with...PS..l also like Sherri B's idea if you wanted to go in a more blokie direction

  16. Shabby creamY WHITE....all the way, with a subtle scuffing to suggest age and normal wear and tear! They are just too overpowering in the dark colour because of the large size of them.....that's my opinionated opinion!

  20. What about linen and then stadin' some of the raised areas to 'weather 'em and make 'em look all antiqueee!!!

I'm sure you'll come up with something marvelous for them.

  21. I agree, those lamps are fantastic! I like the suggestion of turquoise. Alternatively I could have seen these getting lovely gold lined black shades with a gold leaf base, GLAM! You'll have to share what you do with them, they are a beautiful shape! Hugs,

  22. So pretty, these lamps! I would paint them linen - or ivory white, although black may be elegant too! Would love to stroll over that market and look at your things! Happy weekend!

  23. I think I'd leave the lamps as is and add a dark color grosgrain ribbon to the top and bottom of the shades.... I think it would help them "know each other".... Quick, easy and quick too!

    Warm blessings,

  24. I can't believe they didn't sell. What about using a rub 'n buff in gold which is all the rage at the moment. I actually think the shades could be larger. They are gorgeous shades but look a teensy bit out of scale with the base. Can't wait to see what you do with these gorgeous pieces.

  25. I think black would look fantastic, but linen would be pretty too ;) Looking forward to the Christmas market!

  27. I'd say linen would be a nice color to that lamp but it all really depends on where you are going to place them.

You know what? that table where the lamps are, its gorgeous.

  28. Colleen I think I am with the others about painting them. They are a lovely shape.

  29. Beautiful lamps! I think others above suggested painting the base, maybe a lighter color. If you don't change anything they would still sell, just might take longer. Good luck! I would love to shop there! Thanks for your sweet words about my art!:)

  30. I think the greenish tint of turned copper. with the dragonfly aged. Or a dark color - like Oil Rubbed Bronze.
    Great ideas given.
