To celebrate the arrival of
two
special babies
we did a bit of decorating and got to partying!
To make it simple we decided on a
colour theme, and went from there.
We had two showers actually one day after the other, and they where both boys.
(great way to capitalize on all the excitement!)
As you can see we picked the colour turquoise,
(an easy choice in this house!)
Flowers from the garden.
This tray sits on the kitchen table all year long so we didn't do a thing here.
Just added a few turquoise wrapped candies....
A few pom pom's & a torn fabric garland.
...a few sparkly elements.
Our eldest daughter Kelly made the two chalkboards
and took all these pictures.
This board sat on a wee turquoise chair,
inside a crib that held all the gifts!
A wee peek at one of the babes.
We made mini cupcakes, and they where almost all gone!
I was so glad, as I haven't made these a lot,
my daughter is fearless tho, and has done them & did the icing.
Cream Cheese Icing with
lemon rind or vanilla bean I am sure didn't hurt!
The punch is (yellow) lemonade .
To turn this into a turquoise drink,
you add as much Blue Kool Aide
as needed,
to achieve the desired colour!
We keep it very simple around here, fruit & cupcakes!
Entertaining with my two daughters is wonderful,
they are helpful, fun, and fearless.
Thank you Kelly & Maren!
And a special thanks to all the friends, moms & babes!

Adorable!!! Love your decorating ideas...so pretty...and I agree doing things with daughters adds to the JOY! xoxo
I love the ribbon hanging that made such an impact to me and will be using that idea for future events. I am a big fan of framed chalk designs. I have to ask about your dessert plates are they milk glass? I love them and your blue glass as well.
GOOD MORNING!
Now this is a magical setting for any party, and since we are experiencing a LATE SUMMER here, this décor is just so appropriate: the cool aqua of that DELICIOUS sounding blue lemonade, the sweet little blue cupcakes, then of course, those wonderful torn fabric garland strips! What fun and memories you must have had!
Well, school will be starting NEXT WEEK for us here; it is HOT as can be, no air conditioning in the classroom at one of the schools I teach at, but we'll have our fall and winter soon enough!
Thank you for visiting my dear, and go out and happen. Anita
beautiful baby shower! wow!! i love the turquoise!
This shower decor is so perfect Colleen! I love how beautiful your table looks. The fact that you did the showers back to back had to really cut down on the stress and time that putting on a party takes. The cupcakes are so lovely and they look delicious too.
The torn fabric is so pretty and it makes everything perfect.
sending hugs...
love the light blues and sweet decoration for a baby shower :)
happy sunday,
