Fridays Pretties & Patio

This is our very Pretty patio!
I am linking up with Joyce
@

Our back patio was used for a photo shoot produced & styled
photographed by Janis Nicola.

These pictures are a  few days after they left and with my sad picture taking.
It does not do justice to the fab job these ladies did!
There was a sisal rug....The shutters looked better....
The mirror on the right side wall is a wonderful way to deepen the garden & reflect light.
We  use mirrors everywhere!

The reason I am posting is that the magazine is no longer.
But I am hopeful someone will adopt the story and publish it. So I can only show bits.

I reupholstered the furniture...very badly...sorry girls !
I need to redo it !

These are old living room "SWAG" lamps form the 70's (?)
They are a great amber colour.

The reason this picture is here is because these lamps are going to go to a farm house porch.
Powered up and hung one after the other over a long harvest table.
I will show you what that looks like when they go to their new home!

These lamps have been admired by many and could have been sold many a time,
but I like the funky feel they add to the patio

What do you think of these lamps hanging here?
Any ideas for  replacement?
Let me know!

I love your patio and those lights are fantastic!! Oh i think every home i knew of had them in their bathrooms back in the '70's!!!
What a great idea! Are you sure you want to part with them?

I remember my aunt had three in her living room years ago, olive green. I had a TURQUOISE one (my fave colour) a few years ago and got rid of it. One of those things you say I wish I didn't do that. Hmmm... what will you replace them with? If I have ideas I'll let you know.

Right away when I saw the photo and you said that was your patio, I was going to tell you in the comment that, "it is so nice, it could be in a magazine", and low and behold, someone else thought so too.

I love the swag lamps and can just picture the glow they give off in the evening, too bad they are moving..maybe you could fill their spot with some type of large, heavyish carriage like swags (I wonder what that description looks like in everyones brain?!)

How nice to have a 'proper'chair on the patio, more comfortable than the usual ones.

I'm a sucker for swags! I had a pair of clear ones that looked like big ol' bubbles. Hated to sell them. I love yours and the different shapes hanging together.

Your patio is lovely! Here it's been so rainy and tonight in the 30's ... I haven't felt much like sprucing up our patio...But your photos have inspired me. I love the amber lamps! They're great in that corner!
I hope you have a lovely weekend*

Wow, your porch looks GREAT! I know Janis Nicolays blog - she's a fantastic photographer, and i'd love to see her pix. Although yours are not bad either. How sad that the magazine is no longer. It's a hard time for print :(
I think you should get similar lamps for yourself they fit so well here! Have a fantastic weekend!

Absolutely charming...let's face it, most people don't have porches like that. It is an eye-popper.

Thanks for sharing the inspiration,

I hope everyone clicks on these photos so they can see all the details of your lovely patio. It's beautiful!! I love the shutters, and yes, I remember those lamps :-) My parents had one, and I think all of my neighbors did too.
If you're going to replace them, my first thought would be a low hanging fan, with an old southern feel.
Blessings,
Marcia

What a gorgeous patio! I love the shutters. You've made it feel as if it's an extension of your home:) Looks like a great place to curl up with a book and a cup of hot cocoa!!

So very lovely...as usual. Hope to sit there once again, enjoying one of your infamous Chai tea, and a little bit of girl time.
Happy Mothers Day to you my friend...xo...R

Your patio is GORGEOUS! What I like best is that it's not matchy-matchy, that the pieces are eclectic and looks as though you've collected them over time. Very welcoming!
